Lola Mae Lineberry, Little City Girl - ca.1921
I grew up in the city. Moving to the country when I married was like moving to a foreign land. In the city I could go anywhere on my own. In the country, I needed a guide. My husband was that guide. He taught me to love Nature, to respect all people, to be available to help anyone in need. I followed his example. He was pastor of country churches, and I was called by God to be his helper. We worked together for 40 years. He died in 1981.
I am, after all these years of living in the country, a country woman. Our children and grandchildren, and the great-and great-great grandchildren do not all live in the country, but it is a vital part of who they are. I love every minute of it.
My life revolves around doing God’s will. At the moment that includes teaching music and art to over twenty students, writing books and magazine articles, being involved in creating art, speaking to Christian women meetings and seminars and at writing conferences, and doing professional photography. My greatest satisfaction is found in serving as organist and Sunday School teacher at church, in teaching a weekly Bible Study at a Nursing Home and in doing volunteer missions around the world.
At over 90 years of age, I look forward to continuing this work. I hope you will enjoy the examples of it that are shown on this Web site. Please sign my guest book and contact me. God bless you!
